confidence

“With any major decision there are cautions and considerations to make, but once there has been illumination, beware the temptation to retreat from a good thing. If it was right when you prayed about it and trusted it and lived for it, it is right now. Don’t give up when the pressure mounts. Certainly don’t give in to that being who is bent on the destruction of your happiness. Face your doubts. Master your fears. ‘Cast not away therefore your confidence’ [Heb. 10:35]. Stay the course and see the beauty of life unfold for you.” - Elder Jeffrey R. Holland of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, "Cast Not Away Therefore Your Confidence,” Ensign, Mar. 2000.

one small leap for man...

Okay, so the title of this blog may be misleading. Call me crazy, but after so many years of people linking my name to that of the vegetable, I feel oddly connected to it. So while I was reading a little bit about vegetable nutrition, I was just a little excited to find out that in one study Kale was ranked #1.

more than knowledge

"In early life I found that I could learn gospel teachings intellectually and, through the power of reason and analysis, recognize that they were of significant value. But their enormous power and ability to stretch me beyond the limits of my imagination and capacity did not become reality until patient, consistent practice allowed the Holy Spirit to distill and expand their meaning in my heart." - Elder Richard G. Scott The Transforming Power of Faith and Character

“I have a deep decision to make. The strange thing about this decision...is that while it is not a variance with logic and reason, it does not depend alone upon them either. Nor will the decision be made on a basis of mere feeling. It is a decision to be made by a form of knowing which lies somewhere beyond the realms of both thinking and feeling. I regret not being able to explain it. A man can know something and yet not be able to speak of that truth easily to another.” - Elder Neal A. Maxwell The Enoch Letters/Of One Heart
